Part of the Image Appears Missing./Slant Lines Appear on the Image.

Causes and solutions for part of the image to appear missing or slant lines to appear on the image when using the ScanSnap to scan a document are explained below.
Cause

The issue may be caused by the following:

  • Documents skewed during a scan.

  • Documents of different widths and lengths in the same batch were scanned.

  • A document size smaller than the actual document has been set in [Document size].

Part of the image will appear missing when you select a document size that is smaller than the actual document in [Document size] in the ScanSnap Cloud Settings window.

  • Newspaper/magazine clippings or documents in polygonal shapes were scanned.

Solution

  • When documents may have been skewed during a scan

When you load the documents, adjust the side guides to the width of the documents.

  • When documents of different widths and lengths in the same batch were scanned

Align the top of the documents, and load them in the ADF paper chute (cover) as the leading edge. Make sure that all documents are set to the center of the pick roller's width.

Also, adjust the side guides to the widest document in the batch. The rest of the documents should be set straight to avoid skewing.

  • When a document size smaller than the actual document has been set in [Document size]

In the ScanSnap Cloud Settings window, select the same size as the document in [Document size].

If the same size as the document is not an option for [Document size], select [Auto].

  • When scanning newspaper/magazine clippings or documents in polygonal shapes

Place one sheet at a time in the Carrier Sheet to scan.

    HINT

The [Scan] button flashes in blue by holding down the [Scan] button for 3 seconds or longer. If you use the Carrier Sheet to scan a document when the button is flashing, the scanned image of the document is output into the size of the document.
