Cannot Use Two-factor Authentication for the ScanSnap Account

If you cannot use two-factor authentication when logging into the ScanSnap Cloud service, check the following:
When you do not know the authentication code for two-factor authentication, or the authentication code does not match

Start up the authentication application (Microsoft Authenticator) on your mobile device, and check the authentication code for the ScanSnap account.

The obtained authentication code expires in 30 seconds. Enter the latest authentication code.

HINT
  • If it is not possible to use two-factor authentication because you cannot obtain the authentication code, you can disable two-factor authentication in the following procedure.
    1. Display the ScanSnap account management page.

    2. Enter your e-mail address and password, and tap the [Sign in] button to display [Two-Factor Authentication].

    3. Tap [If you cannot obtain an authentication code, refer to this link] to display [Disabling Two-Factor Authentication].

    4. Enter the serial number or license number for your ScanSnap and tap the [Send] button.

  • If authentication does not succeed even though you entered the latest authentication code, check if you used double-byte numbers.

When you cannot use the authentication application (Microsoft Authenticator) because you changed or lost the mobile device that the authentication application has been installed on

Disable two-factor authentication and then enable it again in the following procedure.

When you enable two-factor authentication, use the authentication application (Microsoft Authenticator) installed on the new mobile device.

  1. Display the ScanSnap account management page.

  2. Enter your e-mail address and password, and tap the [Sign in] button to display [Two-Factor Authentication].

  3. Tap [If you cannot obtain an authentication code, refer to this link] to display [Disabling Two-Factor Authentication].

  4. Enter the serial number or license number for your ScanSnap and tap the [Send] button.

When a communication error occurs at login

Two-factor authentication is supported by ScanSnap Cloud v1.7 or later. To log into the ScanSnap Cloud service using the ScanSnap account with two-factor authentication enabled, update the ScanSnap Cloud application to the latest version.
