The Image Is Not Saved in a Cloud Storage Service

Causes and solutions for images not being saved in a cloud storage service when using the ScanSnap Cloud service are explained below.
Cause

The issue may be caused by the following:

  • A scan is not complete.

  • An error occurred during a scan.

  • Although a scan is complete, the image has not been saved.

  • Sending of the image to the cloud storage service is on hold.

  • The storage capacity of the cloud storage service has been exceeded.

  • An image is saved in a storage for a different account in the cloud storage service.

  • An image is saved in a different cloud storage service because a document type was not detected correctly.

Solution

Start up the ScanSnap Cloud application and check the scan history list. In the scan history list, you can check the scan status, the save status of an image, whether an error occurred or not, and the storage destination of an image.

  • When the [Scan/Stop] button flashes in blue

Press the [Scan/Stop] button to finish the scan.

An image is saved in a cloud storage service when scanning is finished. It may take a long time for an image to be saved in a cloud storage service after a scan is finished. In such a case, wait until a message indicating that an image is being processed disappears and then check the save status from a cloud storage service.

  • When a scan error is shown in the scan history list

Follow the message to solve the problem.

    HINT
    • By tapping the [Change doc. type] button, you can save the image to another cloud storage service.
    • By clicking the [Save again] button, you can save the image to the same cloud storage service.
  • When one of the following messages appears in the scan history list: [Scanning], [Processing], or [Saving to the service]

It may take a long time for the image to be saved in a cloud storage service after scanning is finished. Wait until a message indicating that the image is being processed disappears and then check the save status from a cloud storage service.

    HINT

The time taken to save the image in a cloud storage service may be reduced by disabling the setting for creating a searchable PDF file or by setting the same language as the one used for the document.

Perform the following procedure to change the setting:

    1. Tap Navigation Menu on the main screen.

    2. Tap [Settings].

    3. Tap [Scan settings].

    4. Tap a document type or [Detailed setting].

    5. Tap [File format].

    6. Set [Convert to Searchable PDF] to off. Or, for [Target language], set the same language as the one used for the document instead of setting [Auto].

  • When the [Send to a service is on hold] message is shown in the scan history list

When the [Upload the data manually after scanning] checkbox is selected on the editing profiles window of ScanSnap Home, sending of the image to a cloud storage service is placed on hold after the document is scanned.

Perform the following procedure to manually send the image to the cloud storage service:

    1. In the scan history list, tap the scan history of the image to be sent to the cloud storage service.

      The detail view screen appears.

    2. Tap Re-release Button.

    3. Tap the [Send] button.

The image is sent to the cloud storage service.

    HINT

If you do not need to check images before sending them to a cloud storage service, clear the [Upload the data manually after scanning] checkbox on the editing profiles window of ScanSnap Home.

  • When neither an error nor a message indicating that an image is being processed is shown in the scan history list

    • Expand the storage capacity of the cloud storage service, or remove unwanted files to secure sufficient free space, and then try again.

    • Check if the account for the cloud storage service is correct.

    • Check if the image is saved in a different cloud storage service.

For the following documents, the document type may not be detected correctly.

      • A colored receipt that is close to a business card in size

      • A business card that is in portrait orientation and has text in a horizontal direction, such as a receipt

If the image is saved in a different cloud storage service, perform the following:

      1. In the scan history list, tap the scan history of a scanned image to transfer to another cloud storage service.

        The detail view screen appears.

      2. Tap Re-release Button.

      3. Tap a cloud storage service that you want to transfer the image to.

The image is transferred to the selected cloud storage service.

      ATTENTION

Only the scan histories that are not shown in the scanning error list can be transferred to another cloud storage service.

      HINT
      • If [Always save to same service] is set to on in the [Select cloud storage services] screen, images can be transferred only when a cloud storage service where images have been saved is different from the one that is currently set.

      • Even after the images are transferred, they are still kept in the original cloud storage service. Delete the images if you do not want to keep them.
