The issue may be caused by the following:
A document was jammed in the ScanSnap, or scanning a document longer than the maximum document length supported by the ScanSnap (863 mm) was attempted.
The top cover opened.
A communication error occurred.

When a document was jammed in the ScanSnap, or scanning a document longer than 863 mm was attempted
Remove the jammed document or the long document, and scan a document shorter than 863 mm in length.

When the top cover opened
Close the top cover.

When none of the above applies
A communication error may have occurred between the ScanSnap and the ScanSnap Cloud server. Turn the ScanSnap off and turn it back on, and then scan the document again.
