A "Failed to sync time." Message Is Displayed on the Touch Panel

When a "Failed to sync time." message is displayed on the touch panel of the ScanSnap, it may be that the ScanSnap was not able to connect to the NTP server to obtain the current time.

Take the following measures and check if the problem is solved.

  • Checking whether the ScanSnap is connected to the network

    Check the following:

    • Are there no problems with the status and settings of your network environment?

    • Is the wireless access point turned on?

    After checking the above, close the ADF paper chute (cover) to turn off the ScanSnap, open the ADF paper chute (cover) to turn it back on, then check if the problem is solved.

  • Resaving the profile configured to save scanned images directly from the ScanSnap to a network folder in ScanSnap Home

    When resaving the profile configured to save scanned images directly from the ScanSnap to a network folder in ScanSnap Home, the ScanSnap receives the NTP server information from ScanSnap Home and resyncs the time.

    Resave the profile by the following procedure:

    1. Click the [Scan] button at the top of the main window of ScanSnap Home to display the scan window.

      If the main window is not already displayed, refer to To Display the Main Window.

    2. Select the profile configured to save scanned images directly from the ScanSnap to a network folder from the profile list.

    3. Click Edit Profiles to display the [Edit profiles] window.

    4. Click the [Save] button to resave the profile.

    1. Click the [Scan] button at the top of the main window of ScanSnap Home to display the scan window.

      If the main window is not already displayed, click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

    2. Select the profile configured to save scanned images directly from the ScanSnap to a network folder from the profile list.

    3. Click Edit Profiles to display the [Edit profiles] window.

    4. Click the [Save] button to resave the profile.

     

  • Changing the current settings for the method of obtaining an NTP server

    Change the method for obtaining an NTP sever by the following procedure:

    1. Press Settings in the home screen on the touch panel of the ScanSnap to display the [Settings] screen.

    2. Press Wi-Fi Settings to display the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.

    3. Press [Scan to Network Folder] to display the [Scan to Network Folder] screen.

    4. Press [NTP Server Settings] to display the [NTP Server Settings] screen.

    5. Changing the current settings of [Acquisition Method]

      When changing the settings to [Configure manually], refer to Synchronizing Time by Manually Connecting to the NTP Server.

    6. Specify [Timezone], then press the [Sync Time] button.

  • Checking whether accessing the NTP server is restricted in the network environment

    Contact the network administrator.
