The Carrier Sheet Is Not Fed Smoothly.

Causes and solutions for the Carrier Sheet not being fed smoothly or jamming when the Carrier Sheet is used with the ScanSnap to scan a document are explained below.
Cause

The issue may be caused by the following:

  • The Carrier Sheet is dirty.

  • Thick paper is placed inside the Carrier Sheet.

  • The Roller Set is dirty.

  • The Roller Set is worn out.

Solution

  • When the Carrier Sheet is dirty

    Perform one of the following.

    • Clean the Carrier Sheet.

    • Replace the Carrier Sheet.

  • When thick paper is placed inside the Carrier Sheet

    You cannot use the Carrier Sheet to scan thick paper.

  • When the Roller Set is dirty

    Clean the Roller Set.

  • When the Roller Set is worn out

    The Roller Set is a consumable part. Although the replacement cycle varies depending on the paper used, it is recommended as a guideline that it should be replaced after every 200,000 sheets scanned, or on an annual basis.

    When using ScanSnap Manager, you can check how many times the Roller Set has been used in the [ScanSnap Manager - Check consumable status] window that appears by selecting [Check consumable status] from the Right-Click Menu.
