Failed to Update the Firmware.

Causes and solutions for when a firmware update fails during the ScanSnap Cloud application setup are explained below.
Cause

The issue may be caused by the following:

  • Because the network was disconnected while firmware is being downloaded, downloading the data failed.

  • The computer is not connected to the ScanSnap via a USB cable.

  • A USB 3.0 port on the computer is used.

  • The ScanSnap is turned off.

Solution
  1. Connect the computer to the Internet.

  2. Connect the computer and the ScanSnap with a USB cable.

    When a USB 3.0 port on the computer is used, change the port used for the cable connection to a USB 2.0 port.

  3. Turn the ScanSnap off and turn it back on.

    If you changed the port to a USB 2.0 port, restart the computer after turning off the ScanSnap.

  4. Update the firmware again.
