Part of the Image Appears Missing./Slant Lines Appear on the Image.

Causes and solutions for part of the image to appear missing or slant lines to appear on the image when using the ScanSnap to scan a document are explained below.
Cause

The issue may be caused by the following:

  • A document was inserted into the feeding section of the ScanSnap at a skewed angle.

  • A document was not placed against the left side of the feeding section of the ScanSnap.

When a document size other than [Auto] is selected for [Document size] in the ScanSnap Cloud Settings window, the scanned image may appear different from the original document if you do not place the document against the left side of the feeding section of the ScanSnap.

  • A dual scan was performed. (Two documents were loaded and scanned at the same time or one document was loaded while another document was being scanned in the ScanSnap.)

The length of the document that can be scanned with dual scan is 863 mm. If you attempt to scan documents that are longer than the maximum length, the last scanned image may be missing.

  • A document size smaller than the actual document has been set in [Document size].

Part of the image will appear missing when you select a document size that is smaller than the actual document in [Document size] in the ScanSnap Cloud Settings window.

  • Newspaper/magazine clippings or documents in polygonal shapes were scanned.

Solution

  • When a document was inserted into the feeding section of the ScanSnap at a skewed angle

Insert the document straight into the feeding section of the ScanSnap.

  • When a document was not placed against the left side of the feeding section of the ScanSnap

Insert the document as you place it against the left side of the feeding section of the ScanSnap, and scan again.

  • When a dual scan was performed

If you perform a dual scan, use documents that are 863 mm or less.

  • When a document size smaller than the actual document has been set in [Document size]

In the ScanSnap Cloud Settings window, select the same size as the document in [Document size].

If the same size as the document is not an option for [Document size], select [Auto].

    ATTENTION

When a document size other than [Auto] is selected for [Document size] in the ScanSnap Cloud Settings window, place the document against the left side of the feeding section of the ScanSnap.

  • When scanning newspaper/magazine clippings or documents in polygonal shapes

Place one sheet at a time in the Carrier Sheet to scan.

    ATTENTION

You must close the output guide in order to use the Carrier Sheet. Scanning the Carrier Sheet with the output guide open causes a paper jam.

    HINT

The [Scan/Stop] button flashes in blue by holding down the [Scan/Stop] button for 3 seconds or longer. If you use the Carrier Sheet to scan a document when the button is flashing, the scanned image of the document is output into the size of the document.
