Communication error

Causes and solutions for the [Communication error] message appearing when using the ScanSnap Cloud service are explained in this section.
Cause

The issue may be caused by the following:

  • The mobile device is not connected to the Internet.

  • Appropriate permissions are not set for the "ScanSnap" folder that is the default destination folder in the cloud storage service.

  • A character string with symbols is used for accounts, passwords, file names and/or folder names.

  • Two-factor authentication is enabled, but the version of the ScanSnap Cloud application is v1.6 or earlier

  • The cloud storage service is stopped temporarily.

Solution
  • When the mobile device is not connected to the Internet

    Check the status and settings of your network environment, and try again. The following solutions may also be effective:

    • Restart the wireless access point.

    • When a mobile router is used, move it to a location where the signal condition is good.

  • When appropriate permissions are not set for the "ScanSnap" folder that is the default destination folder in the cloud storage service

    Set appropriate permissions for a "ScanSnap" folder that is the default destination folder in the cloud storage service, and try again.

  • When a character string with symbols is used for accounts, passwords, file names and/or folder names

    Change the string, or select another folder if this is the case for the folder name, and try again.

  • When two-factor authentication is enabled

    Update the ScanSnap Cloud application to the latest version.

  • Other than the above

    ScanSnap Cloud service may be stopped temporarily. Wait for a while and try again.
