New features

  • macOS Monterey v12 is now supported.
  • The features available when scanning photos have been improved so that photos can be scanned more conveniently. Users can select "Photo Album" from the template list to create a profile for scanning photos.
  • Two business cloud services (Dropbox Business and Google Workspace) are now supported for ScanSnap Cloud.
  • Dutch has been added to the display languages for ScanSnap Home.

Improvement

  • The function for ScanSnap Cloud (within EU) to send scanned images created with ScanSnap iX1600/iX1500 in an email directly from the ScanSnap had been suspended, but is now resumed.

  • A new function has been added to send scanned images created with ScanSnap iX1600/iX1500 via email directly from ScanSnap.
  • The supported languages have been expanded to output searchable PDF files using ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap.
  • A new function has been added to inform users of the operations to be performed when the setting for [Display of profiles] in ScanSnap iX1600/iX1500 is changed to [Selected user] or [Connected user].

Improvement

  • Improvements have been made to the function that automatically detects the orientation of images and the function that automatically removes blank pages.

Corrected issues

  • Fixed the problem in which the date and month may be recognized in the reverse order when text recognition is performed on the date and time, which are marked with a frame in a scanned image of a receipt in the content data record view.
  • Fixed the problem in which text recognition fails with the "An error occurred while processing the images." error message displayed when a scan is performed in a specific environment.

Improvements

  • A modification has been made which enables users to edit scanned images in the [Scan to Folder], [Scan to Email], or [Scan to Print] window. Likewise, users can also edit scanned images by selecting [Scan to Folder], [Scan to Email], or [Scan to Print] from the Quick Menu.
  • A new function has been added so that users can change the profiles displayed on the home screen of the touch panel to their own profiles when ScanSnap iX1600/iX1500 is being shared by multiple users.
  • The setup procedure and Help contents have been improved, allowing users to access the user registration website easily.

November 10  ScanSnap Home for Mac 1.9.1 Released

Modifications from 1.8.1 to 1.9.1

New feature

  • A modification has been made to support macOS Big Sur v11.0.

Improvements

  • A modification has been made to the layout of the [Add new profile] window and the [Edit profiles] window in order to make it easier for users to configure the settings that are frequently used.
  • A modification has been made which makes ScanSnap Home easier to use by displaying a tutorial after completing the ScanSnap Home setup, introducing how to add or edit profiles and how to scan documents.
  • A modification has been made to display the thumbnails of scanned images during a scan in order for users to easily check the output of each scanned image.
  • A modification has been made to display a message prompting users to perform an authentication again if the authentication to connect to a cloud service from the ScanSnap Cloud server has expired when ScanSnap Cloud is used.
  • Modifications below have been made to the contents of a message, providing users with details for the action to take if scanned images cannot be saved successfully.
    - A link to the online Help has been added so that users know how to change a save destination that has been set in a profile.
    - A modification has been made to notify users of the place where scanned images (which could not be saved successfully) are temporarily saved so that users can access them.
  • A modification has been made so that the appropriate measures to take are displayed in the [ScanSnap Home - Connecting the ScanSnap] window if a USB connection between the ScanSnap and computer cannot be established.

Modifications from 1.7.0 to 1.8.0

New feature

  • A modification has been made which enables users to install ScanSnap Home and ScanSnap Manager on the same computer by using the installer for each software. Scanned images that are created with ScanSnap Manager can be saved and managed in ScanSnap Home. (License activation for the scanner which supports ScanSnap Home is required in order to use ScanSnap Home.)

Improvements

  • Modifications have been made to the procedure for configuring the initial settings for the ScanSnap and the procedure for establishing a connection between the ScanSnap and ScanSnap Home, which enable users to set up the ScanSnap easily. It is also possible for users to configure the Wi-Fi settings for ScanSnap iX1500 after the initial settings configuration is complete. You can do this by clicking [Wireless setup] that is in the [Scanner] tab under [Preferences] in ScanSnap Home.
  • A modification has been made which enables users to start performing a scan quickly by syncing the profile that is selected on a computer with the touch screen of ScanSnap iX1500 automatically.
  • A modification has been made so that the Quick Menu is displayed when a scan is performed with a ScanSnap model that is not equipped with a touch screen, such as ScanSnap iX500 or ScanSnap iX100, right after the scanner is set up, by setting [Quick Menu] as the default profile to be selected right after the setup is complete.
  • A modification has been made which enables users to view a content data record quickly after a scan is performed, by speeding up the time it takes to display the content data record since the content data record is saved in ScanSnap Home.
  • The interval for users to be notified when new firmware becomes available has been changed from 24 hours to one week.

Corrected issues

  • Fixed the problem that occurs when text recognition is performed on a document with checkered patterns, causing the performance in progress to end abnormally.
  • Fixed the problem that occurs when text recognition is performed on a date in the Japanese calendar format, which is marked with a frame in a scanned image of a receipt, converting the date to a date in the Western calendar format, which is different from the date in the Japanese calendar format, because the date is not recognized correctly.
  • Fixed the problem that may occur when the document type for a PDF file that was not created with the ScanSnap is changed, causing an error.
  • Other miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements have been done.

  • A new function has been added to check a scanned image with Adobe Acrobat/Power PDF straight away. Added new [Scan to Acrobat(R)] and [Scan to Power PDF] profiles to the template.
  • A modification has been made which enables users to perform operations such as setting an IP address more easily after the scanner settings are displayed from the menu bar.
  • To use ScanSnap Home on macOS Catalina v10.15, it is no longer necessary to allow ScanSnap Home to access all data in the disk.

November 6  ScanSnap Home for Mac 1.5.0 Released

Modifications from 1.4.1 to 1.5.0

  • A new function has been added to check a scanned image with Preview straight away. Added a new [Scan to Preview] profile to the template.
  • A new function has been added so that a document can be printed immediately after scanning. Added a new [Scan to Print] profile to the template. Added [Scan to Print] to the associated application.
  • A modification has been made so that holding down the [Scan] button on ScanSnap iX1500 scans documents with [Manual scan] enabled.
  • A solution has been added to an error message that is displayed when a connection to the ScanSnap fails while setting up the ScanSnap or scanning a document.
  • Explanations has been added to the feed settings window and the feed settings on the [Add new profile] window and the [Edit profiles] window so that users easily know that a document that is folded in half can be scanned without the Carrier Sheet.

  • An ON/OFF option has been added for the existing function that applies the same changes to other content data records automatically when users have changed meta information.
  • A modification has been made so that even if the scan settings are changed on the touch panel of ScanSnap iX1500 or in the scan window of ScanSnap Home, the scan settings are returned to the original scan settings set for the profile after scanning.
  • Fixed the problem that prevents data from being migrated depending on the characters in file names.
  • Fixed the problem that causes scanned images that are edited in the [Book Image Viewer] window for ScanSnap SV600, to fade.

  • In regard to the folder access permission enhanced with macOS Catalina v10.15 (beta 6), a modification has been made to display a message that instructs users to allow ScanSnap Home to access all data in the disk when using ScanSnap Home.
  • Fixed the problem that occurs when a user is switched on a Mac computer while it is connected with iX1500 that has [Current user] specified for [Display of profiles], causing the profile for the user before the switch to be displayed as it is on the touch panel or in the scan window of ScanSnap Home.
