Paper jammed or the maximum scannable length has been exceeded. Open the ADF top section and remove the document. For U-turn Scan, adjust the side guides to both edges of the document. To scan a document larger than 360 mm, click the [Stop] button and hold down the [Scan] button on the ScanSnap until it flashes in blue to perform U-turn Scan.

Cause

The issue may be caused by the following:

  • Paper is jammed inside iX1300.

  • You tried to scan a long page document (a document longer than the standard size).

Solution

Perform the following:

  • Open the ADF top section and remove the document.

    ATTENTION

    • Regardless of the feeding method, if a paper jam occurs, open the ADF top section and remove the jammed document.

    • Close the ADF top section together with the stacker until it locks into position, indicated by a clicking sound.

    When scanning the document with U-turn Scan again, adjust the side guides to both edges of the document.

  • If the length of a document exceeds 360 mm (14.17 in.), Return Scan cannot be performed. Scan the long page document with U-turn Scan.

    Perform the following procedure to scan the long page document with U-turn Scan. For details about how to scan a long page document, refer to Scanning Long Pages (iX1300).

    1. Tap the [Stop] button.

    2. Load the document in the ADF paper chute (cover) correctly.

    3. Press the [Scan] button on the ScanSnap until the button flashes in blue.
