When loading a document directly in the ScanSnap, the conditions for documents that can be loaded vary depending on the scanning method.

For U-turn Scan

The type, weight, and size of a document that can be loaded in the ADF paper chute (cover) and scanned are as follows:

Document type	Office paper such as wood-free paper, wood-containing paper, and PPC paper (recycled paper)
Paper weight	40 to 128 g/m2 (11 to 34 lb) A6 or smaller size paper: 40 to 209 g/m2 (11 to 56 lb) (*1) A8 or smaller size paper: 128 to 209 g/m2 (34 to 56 lb) (*1)
Paper size	Width 50.8 to 215.9 mm (2 to 8.5 in.) Length 50.8 to 355.6 mm (2 to 14 in.) For long page documents, up to 1,117 mm (43.97 in.) (*2)

*1:	For thick documents, inserting a document into the manual feeder and performing a scan is recommended.
*2:	The length of a document that can be scanned varies depending on the setting for [Scanning side]. For details, refer to Scanning Long Pages (iX1300).

For Return Scan

The type, weight, and size of a document that can be inserted into the manual feeder and scanned are as follows:
