Changing the Save Destination for the [ScanSnap Home] Folder

Change the save destination for the [ScanSnap Home] folder in ScanSnap Home. The [ScanSnap Home] folder is displayed under the [PC] folder in the folder list view on the main window.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.

  2. Select [Settings] in the menu [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
  3. In the [General] tab, click the [Change] button for [ScanSnap Home folder].
  4. In the [Change folder] window, select a folder that you want to change to, and click the [Select Folder] button.

    When moving all files in the [ScanSnap Home] folder to the new destination folder, select [Move] in the window for a message that appears by clicking the [Select Folder] button.

    HINT
    • You cannot select the drive itself as the save destination for the [ScanSnap Home] folder.

    • When a file is transferred from the original folder to the destination folder in which a folder or file with the same name already exists, the following operations take place.

      • When a folder with the same name exists

        The folders with the same name are merged and content data records in the original folder are transferred to the destination folder.

      • When a file with the same name exists

        A three-digit serial number is given to the file name of the file from the original folder. The number of digits increases as necessary when the serial number exceeds three digits.

        Example: file name_001.xxx

      • When there are a large number of folders in the new destination folder, it may take time to import the files to ScanSnap Home.

    • When you click the [Cancel] button in the middle of changing the save destination for the [ScanSnap Home] folder, if a message is displayed indicating that the ScanSnap Home folder has been changed, importing the files that are in the new destination folder to ScanSnap Home is stopped.

      Perform one of the following:

      • When you do not import files from the new destination folder to ScanSnap Home

        Change the save destination for the [ScanSnap Home] folder back to the previous folder.

      • When you import files from the new destination folder to ScanSnap Home

        Perform the following:

        1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

          For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.

        2. Click Refresh that is located next to the search bar.

        The files in the new destination folder are imported to the [ScanSnap Home] folder.

  5. Click the [OK] button to close the preferences window.

The new save destination is set for the [ScanSnap Home] folder under the [PC] folder in the folder list view.

Change the save destination for the [ScanSnap Home] folder in ScanSnap Home. The [ScanSnap Home] folder is displayed under the [Mac] folder in the folder list view on the main window.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  2. Select [ScanSnap Home] on the menu bar [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
  3. In the [General] tab, click the [Change] button for [ScanSnap Home folder].
  4. Select a new destination folder in the [Select Folder] window, and click the [OK] button.

    When moving all files in the [ScanSnap Home] folder to the new destination folder, select [Move] in the window for a message that appears by clicking the [OK] button.

    HINT
    • When a file is transferred from the original folder to the destination folder in which a folder or file with the same name already exists, the following operations take place.

  5. Click Close at the upper left of the window to close the preferences window.

The new save destination is set for the [ScanSnap Home] folder under the [Mac] folder in the folder list view.
