The Scanned Image Cannot Be Opened

If the scanned image in the selected content data record cannot be opened in the main window of ScanSnap Home, check the following:

Have you selected a network folder for the save destination? Also, was the network disconnected while the image was being saved?

When a network folder has been selected for the save destination, if an error occurs for some reason such as the LAN cable being disconnected while you are saving the scanned image, it may not be saved correctly.

Perform one of the following:

  • Check the status of your network environment, solve the problem, and try scanning again.

  • Change the save destination to the local folder and try scanning again.

Change the save destination in the following procedure:

    1. Click the [Scan] button at the top of the main window of ScanSnap Home to display the scan window.

If the main window is not already displayed, refer to To Display the Main Window.

    2. Select the profile that you are using from the profile list.

    3. Click Edit profiles to display the [Edit profiles] window.

    4. Change the save destination for [Save to] to the local folder.

Delete a content data record which has an image that cannot be opened, if necessary.

For details, refer to Deleting a Content Data Record/Folder.

Is the image in a PDF format or JPEG format? (Windows)

Only the images in a PDF format or JPEG format can be displayed in the ScanSnap Home viewer window.

Open the images in a format other than a PDF format or JPEG format with an application that the format is associated with.

Check if the associated application is correct.

Have you moved or deleted scanned images?

When a content data record consists of multiple scanned images, if you move or delete some of the scanned images in File Explorer or Finder, the scanned images cannot be opened from the content data record list view of ScanSnap Home.
