A Message Is Displayed, Indicating That the License Activation Was Not Completed Successfully When You Signed In on the Preferences Window

When you sign in to ScanSnap Home with a ScanSnap account, if a message is displayed, indicating that the license activation was not completed successfully, check the following.

Is the region where you are using the ScanSnap different from the region that you selected when registering a ScanSnap account?

To sign in to ScanSnap Home with a ScanSnap account, the region where you register a ScanSnap account and the region where you actually use the ScanSnap must be the same.

Windows

Perform one of the following:

  • When you change the region setting on a computer to the region that you selected when registering a ScanSnap account

    1. Exit ScanSnap Home.

    2. Change the region setting on the computer to the region that you selected when registering a ScanSnap account.

      1. Display the [Region] window or the [Region and Language] window.

        For details, refer to To Display the [Region] Window or the [Region and Language] Window.

      2. In the [Location] tab, change the region setting to the region that you selected when registering a ScanSnap account

      3. Click the [OK] button, and close the [Region] window or [Region and Language] window, and then restart the computer.

    3. Sign in with a ScanSnap account.

      1. Display the main window of ScanSnap Home.

      2. Select [Settings] in the menu [Preferences] to display the preferences window.

      3. Select the [Account] tab, and sign in by entering a ScanSnap account e-mail address and a password in the fields under [Sign in with a ScanSnap account. (recommended)].

  • When you register a ScanSnap account by selecting the same region as the region setting on a computer

    1. Exit ScanSnap Home.

    2. Check the region setting on a computer.

      1. Display the [Region] window or the [Region and Language] window.

        For details, refer to To Display the [Region] Window or the [Region and Language] Window.

      2. Check the region setting in the [Location] tab.

    3. Deactivate the license for a registered ScanSnap account.

      1. Enter an e-mail address and a password for a ScanSnap account, and select the region that you selected when creating the ScanSnap account in the ScanSnap account information page for signing in.

      2. Click [Remove license activation] for [Current License Information].

      3. Click the [Remove] button to remove the current license number.

    4. Specify the region that you checked in step 2 and register the ScanSnap account as new.

      1. Display the main window of ScanSnap Home.

      2. Select [Settings] in the menu [Preferences] to display the preferences window.

      3. Select the [Account] tab and click [If an account is not registered, click Here].

      4. Click the [ScanSnap account registration] button in the ScanSnap account information page.

      5. For [Location] in the [ScanSnap account registration] window, select the region that you checked in step 2, and follow the instructions on the window to register the ScanSnap account.

    5. Sign in by entering a ScanSnap account e-mail address and a password in the fields under [Sign in with a ScanSnap account. (recommended)] in the preferences window of ScanSnap Home.

Mac OS

Perform one of the following:

  • When you change the region setting on a computer to the region that you selected when registering a ScanSnap account

    1. Exit ScanSnap Home.

    2. Change the region setting on the computer to the region that you selected when registering a ScanSnap account.

      1. Select [System Preferences] from the Apple (Apple Mark) menu to display the [System Preferences] window.

      2. Select [Language & Region] to display the [Language & Region] window.

      3. Change the setting for [Region] to the region that you selected when registering a ScanSnap account.

      4. Click Close in the upper left of the window to close the [Language & Region] window, and then restart the computer.

    3. Sign in with a ScanSnap account.

      1. Display the main window of ScanSnap Home.

        Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

      2. Select [ScanSnap Home] on the menu bar [Preferences] to display the preferences window.

      3. Select the [Account] tab, and sign in by entering a ScanSnap account e-mail address and a password in the fields under [Sign in with a ScanSnap account (Recommended)].

  • When you register a ScanSnap account by selecting the same region as the region setting on a computer

    1. Exit ScanSnap Home.

    2. Check the region setting on a computer.

      1. Select [System Preferences] from the Apple (Apple Mark) menu to display the [System Preferences] window.

      2. Select [Language & Region].

        Check the region for [Region] in the [Language & Region] window.

    3. Deactivate the license for a registered ScanSnap account.

      1. Enter an e-mail address and a password for a ScanSnap account, and select the region that you selected when creating the ScanSnap account in the ScanSnap account information page for signing in.

      2. Click [Remove license activation] for [Current License Information].
