Creating a Double-Page Spread Image by Merging Two Pages

Merge two pages in an image to create a single double-page spread image in the ScanSnap Home viewer window. You can only edit a multi-page image in a PDF format or JPEG format.

HINT
  • To delete work data, select the [Finalize] checkbox in the window for saving or overwriting the image, and then save the image.

  • If fingers are captured in the images, fill in the captured finger areas with Book Image Viewer before you create a double-page spread image.

  • When headers, footers, backgrounds, watermarks, and comments are included in the pages to be merged, they will also be included in the created double-page spread image.

  • When the selected image in a PDF format contains text information, the created double-page spread image will not contain the text information from the original image.

  • If you merge PDF file images that are compliant with PDF/A, the merged image will not be compliant with PDF/A.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.

  2. In the content data record list view, select a content data record with a multi-page image which contains two pages you want to merge and then display the viewer window.
  3. Click [Switch View] on the [Home] tab to display the Pages Panel.
  4. Select two pages to be merged in the Pages Panel.

    Select the pages while holding down the [Ctrl] key or [Shift] key.

  5. On the [Edit] tab, click Merge pages, then click [Vertically] or [Horizontally].
  6. Select the page layout after the pages are merged in the [Merging Layout] window.
  7. Click the [OK] button.
  8. Click the [File] tab and select [Save] or [Save as] from the file menu.

Mac OS

Merge two pages in a multi-page image to create a single double-page spread image in [Merge Pages] of ScanSnap Home. You can only edit PDF or JPEG images, which are created by scanning multiple documents with the ScanSnap.

  • If fingers are captured in the images, fill in the captured finger areas with Book Image Viewer before you create a double-page spread image.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  2. In the content data record list view, select a content data record with a multi-page image which contains two pages you want to merge.
  3. In the menu that appears when you click the content data records while holding down the [control] key, select [Tools] [Merge Pages].
  4. Select two pages to be merged in the Pages Panel displayed in the [ScanSnap Page Merger] window.

    Select the pages while holding down the [command command] key or [Shift] key.

  5. Click the [Merge Pages] button to switch Preview to a double-page spread view.

    Change the vertical/horizontal arrangement of the pages so that the merged image looks as you want.

  6. Click the [Combine] button to merge the selected pages.
  7. Click the [Save] button.
  8. Check the title name and click the [Save] button.

The image with the two pages merged into a double-spread page is saved
