[File naming rule] Screen

The [File naming rule] screen in the ScanSnap Cloud application allows you to specify the format in which each file is automatically named when a document is scanned.

The [File naming rule] screen consists of the following items:

Name files automatically

Extracts a document type and a character string that is included in a document, and automatically specifies a file name for the image.

The items to be extracted vary depending on the document type.

The language to be extracted is the one that is specified in the [Language of document] Screen.

The items to be extracted from a document can be specified in the [Specify items to be extracted] Screen which appears when you tap [Specify items to be extracted].

ATTENTION
  • In the following cases, a character string and a date may not be extracted correctly:

    • Documents with many decorated characters

      Example: Embossed or outlined characters

    • Documents with characters on a patterned or colored background

Example: Characters overlapping illustrations and diagrams

    • Documents with characters that are located near illustrations or lines

    • Documents with a few characters

    • Documents that are faded or dirty

If a character string and a date are not extracted correctly, select another file name on the screen for changing a file name, or change the file name manually.

For details, refer to Changing the File Name of a Scanned Image.

  • If the language for an extracted character string and date, and the language for a document are not the same, change the file name manually on the screen for changing a file name.

Use scanned date

Customize file names
