Connecting the ScanSnap to a Wireless Access Point from the Touch Panel (iX1600 / iX1500)

To use the ScanSnap over a wireless LAN, connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point which the computer is connected to. The ScanSnap can be connected to a wireless access point from the touch panel.
  1. Press Settings in the home screen on the touch panel of the ScanSnap to display the [Settings] screen.
  2. Press Wi-Fi Settings to display the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
  3. Press [Wi-Fi connect mode] to display the [Wi-Fi connect mode] screen.
  4. Select [Access point connection].
  5. Press Back to return to the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
  6. Press [Access point connection] to display the [Access point connection] screen.
  7. Press [Access point connect settings] to display the [Connection information configuration method] screen.
  8. Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point.

    When connecting the scanner by selecting a wireless access point from the list

    1. Select [Select an access point].
    2. Press the [Next] button to display the [Select network] screen.
    3. From the list of displayed wireless access points, select a wireless access point that you want to connect to.
    4. Press the [Next] button to display the [Enter connection information] screen.
    5. Enter the information of the wireless access point to be used and press the [Next] button.

      The items which are displayed in the screen differ depending on the security protocol of the wireless access point.

      • To perform the authentication with a security key

        Press the input field for [Security key] and enter the user name, and then press [OK].

      • To perform the authentication with a client certificate

        Press [Client certificate] and select the certificate to be used.

        HINT

        To check the details about the certificate, press the [Certificate] button.

      • To perform the authentication with a user ID and a password

        Press the input field and enter a value for [User ID] and [Password] respectively, and then press [OK].

      • To perform the authentication with an external ID

        Press the input field for [External ID], enter the external ID, and press [OK].

    6. Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.
    7. Press Home to display the home screen.

    When connecting the scanner by entering information of a wireless access point

    1. Select [Configure manually].
    2. Press the [Next] button to display the [Enter connection information] screen.
    3. Enter the information of the wireless access point to be used and press the [Next] button.

      The items which are displayed in the screen differ depending on the security protocol of the wireless access point.

    4. Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.
    5. Press Home to display the home screen.

    When connecting the scanner by using the WPS button of a wireless access point

    1. Select [WPS (button)].
    2. Press the [Next] button.
    3. Press the button for the WPS function on the wireless access point.

      The wireless access point is ready to be connected from the ScanSnap.

      HINT

      For details about the WPS function, refer to the manual of your wireless access point.

    4. Go back to the touch panel of the ScanSnap, and press the [Next] button in the [WPS (button)] screen within two minutes.
    5. Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.
    6. Press Home to display the home screen.

    When connecting the scanner by using the PIN code of the WPS function of a wireless access point

    1. Select [WPS (PIN)].
    2. Press the [Next] button to display the [WPS (PIN)] screen.

      Take a note of the PIN that is displayed in the screen in case you forget it.

    3. Open the window for setting the WPS for the wireless access point in a computer or mobile device, and enter the PIN for the ScanSnap.

      The wireless access point is ready to be connected from the ScanSnap.

      For details about the WPS function, refer to the manual of your wireless access point.

    4. Go back to the touch panel of the ScanSnap, and press the [Next] button in the [WPS (PIN)] screen within two minutes.
    5. Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.
    6. Press Home to display the home screen.
    • The computer and the ScanSnap are connected via wireless LAN using the same wireless access point.
