Important Announcement Regarding Rack2-Filer Smart

It has been verified that, in rare cases, Rack2-Filer Smart Customers may encounter data loss when exiting the program while running OCR .
Please apply the following Correction Patch to correct this issue.

Details

<Issue>

Data may be lost in the binder when exiting the program from the Windows taskbar or the task manager while running OCR.

In this case, data cannot be restored with [Restore from Backup] of Rack2-Filer Smart.

Only the data in the binder where the OCR program is running may be lost. The other binders are not affected.


<Conditions of Occurrence> CAUTION: NEVER DO THE BELOW OPERATIONS!!

  • Operations
    The above issue occurs when the following operations are performed.
    1. Select a binder on Bookshelf, and then run OCR on the page using either of the following operations.
      • * Right-click a binder, and select [Run OCR on Pages].
      • * Select [Run OCR on Pages] from the [Binder] tab.

    2. While OCR is running using the operations mentioned above, quit running OCR using one of the following operations.
      • * Right-click the Rack2-Filer Smart icon on the Windows taskbar, and select [Close all windows].
      • * Click the close button "x" of the "Run OCR on Pages" window of the Rack2-Filer Smart icon on the Windows taskbar.
      • * Exit "Run OCR on Pages" on Windows task manager.



Note: This issue does not occur when running OCR using the following operations.

  • *Running OCR on pages on Rack2-Viewer after opening a binder.
  • *Running OCR when data is imported with "Run OCR to make pages searchable" enabled in Options.
