iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, iX500, or iX100 Cannot Be Connected.

Cause

The issue may be caused by the following:

  1. The mobile device is not connected to a wireless LAN.

  2. iX1600 or iX1500 is not connected to a wireless LAN.

(On the touch panel of iX1600 or iX1500, Wi-Fi Connection Status is not displayed in the top left of the home screen)

  3. iX1300 or iX500 is not connected to a wireless LAN.

(The Wi-Fi indicator on iX1300 or iX500 is lit in color other than blue.)

  4. iX100 is not connected to a wireless LAN.

(The Wi-Fi indicator on iX100 is lit in color other than blue or green.)

  5. iX100 is in Direct Connect mode.

(The Wi-Fi indicator on iX100 is lit in green.)

  6. Communication between wireless devices is disabled at the wireless access point.

(Or, it is restricted by an option such as the privacy separator.)

  7. ScanSnap Connect Application is connected to a public wireless LAN, but it cannot be connected to iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, iX500, or iX100.

  8. ScanSnap Connect Application on another mobile device has already been connected to iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, iX500, or iX100.

  9. ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool is running.

  10. Scanning is performed from the computer which has been connected to iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, iX500, or iX100.

Solution

Perform the following:

  1. Check the wireless LAN setting on the mobile device, and connect the mobile device to the wireless LAN in a network where iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, iX500, or iX100 is connected.

  2. Check whether iX1600 or iX1500 is connected to the wireless access point.

On the touch panel of iX1600 or iX1500, when Wi-Fi Connection Status in the top left of the home screen changes to Signal Strength (No Signal) or is not displayed, refer to the ScanSnap Help.

  3. Confirm that the Wi-Fi indicator on iX1300 or iX500 is lit in blue. If it is not, perform the following:

    • Turn on the Wi-Fi switch on iX1300 or iX500.

    • Turn iX1300 or iX500 back on.

    • Turn on the wireless access point again.

    • Use ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool to confirm or diagnose the connection status of iX1300 or iX500 to a wireless LAN.

  4. Confirm that the Wi-Fi indicator on iX100 is lit in blue or green. If it is not, perform the following:

    • Turn on the Wi-Fi switch on iX100.

    • Turn on iX100 again.

    • When iX100 is connected in Access Point Connect mode, turn the wireless access point back on.

    • Use ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool to confirm or diagnose the connection status of iX100 to a wireless LAN.

  5. Perform the following:

For the Access Point Connect mode
    • Turn on the wireless access point again.

    • Turn on iX100 again.

    For the Direct Connect mode

Select iX100 that you want to connect to in the Wi-Fi network settings on your mobile device.

  6. Change the setting on the wireless access point to allow communication between wireless devices.

For the setting on the wireless access point, refer to the manual of the wireless access point that you are using.

  7. The ScanSnap cannot be used by connecting it to the computer or the mobile device via a public Wireless LAN because the privacy separator function is often enabled in a public Wireless LAN.

For iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, or iX100, even if there is a public wireless LAN, do not configure iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, or iX100 to connect to other devices via the public wireless LAN. Use iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, or iX100 in Direct Connect mode.

For iX100, if you set the ScanSnap to connect to a public wireless LAN by mistake, you cannot use the ScanSnap in Direct Connect mode.

    Perform the following:

    • For iX100, delete unnecessary wireless access points by using ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.

    • Switch to the Direct Connect mode manually.

  8. Exit ScanSnap Connect Application in the connected mobile device.

  9. Exit ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and then try again.

  10. Finish the scan and then try again.
