Overlapping document detected. If you are discarding the image, return the overlapped documents to the feeder.

Cause

A multifeed was detected during a scan with iX1600, iX1500, or iX500.

Solution

Open the ADF top section of iX1600, iX1500, or iX500 to remove the document remaining in the ADF.

Confirm the last scanned page, and try again.

When you scan the following documents with iX1600 or iX1500, select [Manual scan] for [Feed].

  • Documents folded in half

  • Envelopes

  • Documents with sticky notes attached

  • Multi-layered documents such as transfer paper

  • Plastic cards
