Documents That Can Be Loaded Directly into iX1600/iX1500

Conditions for documents that can be loaded directly into iX1600 or iX1500 are as follows:

Document type (*1)

Office paper, postcards, business cards

Plastic cards conforming to the ISO7810 ID-1 type (54 × 86 mm/3.37 × 2.13 in.) (*2)

Paper weight

40 to 209 g/m2 (11 to 56 lb) (*3)

For documents of A8 size (52 × 72 mm/2.05 × 2.83 in.) or less

128 to 209 g/m2 (34 to 56 lb)

For plastic cards

0.76 mm (0.03 in.) or less (embossed cards can be used)

Paper size

Width: 50.8 to 216 mm (2 to 8.5 in.)

Length: 50.8 to 360 mm (2 to 14.17 in.)

For long page documents (*4)

Up to 1,726 mm (67.95 in.)

Select [Manual Feeding Scan] for [Feed] under [Scanning] in [Profile] to scan the following documents:

  • Documents folded in half (A3/B4/Double Letter size)

  • Multi-layered documents such as transfer paper (Paper thickness: 0.5 mm/0.02 in. or less)

  • Envelopes (Width: 240 mm/9.45 in. or less, paper thickness: 0.5 mm/0.02 in. or less)

To scan a plastic card, set [Manual Feeding Scan] for [Feed] under [Scanning] in [Profile].

When selecting [Manual Feeding Scan] for [Feed] under [Scanning] in [Profile], a paper weight of up to 256 g/m2 (68 lb) is allowed for document scanning.

The document length that can be scanned varies depending on the setting for [Scanning side] under [Scanning] in [Profile].

ATTENTION
  • When documents are attached with metal objects such as paper clips or staples that can damage the inside of iX1600 or iX1500, remove these metal objects to scan.

  • Wait until the ink dries completely to scan the documents.

  • Do not scan documents other than paper such as fabric, metal foil and OHP film

  • Be careful of the following when you scan plastic cards:

    • Cards that are bent may not be fed properly.

    • If the surface of the card is dirty with grease marks such as fingerprints, wipe the dirt off.

    • When you scan a plastic card with strong luster such as a gold colored credit card, some parts of the image may appear lighter or darker than the original.

    • When you scan an embossed card, put the embossed side down, and load the card in landscape orientation in iX1600 or iX1500.

  • When you scan a document folded in half, make sure that the gap around where the document is folded is 0.3 mm/0.01 in. or less.
