What Is Two-factor Authentication?

Two-factor authentication is a function that prevents abuse of your ScanSnap account and enhances security by authenticating the ScanSnap account with the authentication code in addition to the password authentication.

The authentication code will be displayed after you install the authentication application on your mobile device and set up two-factor authentication.

Enable two-factor authentication for the ScanSnap account in the following procedure.

ATTENTION
  • It is necessary to install the authentication application on a mobile device used for two-factor authentication in advance.

Microsoft Authenticator is used for the authentication application.

  • To enable or disable two-factor authentication, you need to register a ScanSnap unit with the ScanSnap account. For details, refer to Adding a ScanSnap Model in ScanSnap Cloud Operation.

  • Two-factor authentication is supported by ScanSnap Cloud v1.7 or later. After two-factor authentication is enabled, you can no longer log into the ScanSnap Cloud service with ScanSnap Cloud v1.6 or earlier. In this case, update the ScanSnap Cloud application to the latest version, and then sign into it.
